Delaware Magic

Magic is an organization of families. The girls play, but the families make the organization. There are no superstars; we plays as a team, as an organization of teams. Everyone is important to the play. We saw outstanding play on the field from all of our teams. And the parent: A player from another team came up to one of our parents and said "I wish you were cheering for our team." One of our players was overheard bragging to a friend "we have the best parents." Coach Joe helped set the standard for sportsmanship when he came out of the dugout and helped an injured opponent with a little ice and TLC during a game. Our coaches set an example of fair play and sportsmanship with their calm demeanor (most of the time) and positive reinforcement (all of the time). Sure we want to win, but they teach that it's fun to win. The harder you work, the more you win, the more fun it is. Ask anyone who saw the final 16U game at Waldorf, a come from behind win in the bottom of the 7th in dramatic fashion, to complete the Magic sweep. And after cheering, the younger girls to victory. Or the 14's at Nationals after 15 hours and the 5th game of the day, playing like it was their first game. The 14's ended with a tough loss, after 9 innings of 0-0 play to loss 2-1, but you would have never known it by the smiles on their faces as they posed for pictures.
